Founder/ Director

Tenzin Sonam Gonsar is the founder and director of the Social Development Initiative Nepal (SDINepal), whose flagship project is EduLift. Prior to starting SDINepal, Mr. Gonsar worked for a premier investment management firm in the United States. In addition to SDINepal, Tenzin has also launched two other Entrepreneurial ventures in Nepal. His professional experience is primarily within the organizational development and human resource management field and he has worked both in the not-for-profit and for-profit sectors. Mr. Gonsar received a Master’s degree in Organizational Psychology from Columbia University.

EduLift Adviser

Joey Ruth Owen has twelve years’ experience of creatively working with young people, theatre facilitation, drama teaching and creative community project delivery in the UK, India and Nepal, including teaching drama and working one to one in primary schools.

Kalsang Wangdu is an education specialist and had previously worked with the Tibetan Children’s Village and the Department of Education, CTA. He had earned a Master of Education from Teachers College, Columbia University. Currently, he is a researcher at the Faculty of Education, University of Turku, Finland. EduLift Advisor

Jamyang Tenzin Jamyang Tenzin was raised at Tibetan Children’s Village (TCV) and has a degree in Photojournalism from Delhi. From a young age, he has always been interested in bringing art and society together. Jamyang has worked with various organizations in the past such as Wilderness Film India to explore his interests in art and incorporate it into his profession.

Tsering Gyurmey Lama is an A-levels graduate and former loan officer in a cooperative bank. He is one of the beneficiary students of Explore Program 2017. He is also passionate about photography, videography, and music.
