On 23rd September, we marked the closing of our 1st course of the Art & Language program at Srongtsen Bhrikuti Boarding High School with Spoken Word Poetry. Twenty students of class 9 from Srongtsen Bhrikuti school participated in this course through which they learnt to develop their English language skill by exploring the spoken word poetry art form. Students were guided to explore their creativity and express their feelings and opinions. They also learnt to work in groups and perform for an audience, hence building their collaborative and communication skills. On the closing event, students’ poems ranged from adolescent views on growing up and the ever popular theme in poetry – love to deeper issues about peace and their homeland Tibet.

Also, to share the stage with their stories were two students from Shree Mahendra Boudha Higher Secondary School who have finished their 2nd course of ‘Language through Storytelling’ under the Art & Language program at EduLift.
